Explore Studio City’s Universal CityWalk

From theme parks to special events, there’s always plenty of exciting family-friendly things happening in Studio City. One attraction your family definitely needs to visit? Universal CityWalk. CityWalk leads to Universal Studios, but is much more than an entryway. It’s here that you’ll find a wide variety of restaurants and entertainment options along the way. More details about CityWalk below.

What is CityWalk

We’re sure you’ve heard of Universal Studios Hollywood– rides, studio tours, Harry Potter World, you know the gist. But, have you heard of Universal CityWalk? It basically serves as the entrance to Universal Studios itself and is three blocks of entertainment, restaurants and shopping. Thanks to renowned architect Jon Jerde, stroll through CityWalk and you’ll immediately be surrounded by architecture found all over Los Angeles. A courtyard, fountain, giant TV screen and massive guitar are all things you can expect to see; along with many diverse street performers. Believe it or not, this mini city is home to more than 30 places to eat, a 19-screen movie theater, outdoor concert venue, seven night spots, over 30 stores and even indoor skydiving. Dining ranges from casual sit-down restaurants to quick snack spots. And CityWalk’s stores have something for everyone, both kids and adults. If you’re planning a visit to Universal Studios anytime soon, make sure to spend some time exploring CityWalk first!

Where to Eat

Universal CityWalk has the best restaurants and eateries for the whole family. For delizioso Italian food and a diverse vintage setting, check out Bucca di Beppo. Family-style dishes with generous portions are perfect to share with the whole family. Just be careful when ordering from their menu, a “small” feeds up to three and a “large” feeds up to five. Don’t forget to check out their iconic Pope room before you leave! If you’re craving a great burger, head on over to Johnny Rockets. Their menu has cook-to-order burgers (vegetarian-friendly options too!) and hand-spun shakes and malts. This spot is perfect for those who want to customize their order just the way they like it. And what better way to finish your day than with something sweet and salty? Your sweet tooth will love the Ben and Jerry’s shop. Get the scoop on their delicious ice cream and frozen yogurt. For a perfect balance of sweet and salty, visit Popcornopolis where gourmet popcorn flavors include Cheddar Cheese, Rocky Road and Zebra Chocolate.

What to Do

Take a walk on the wild side and try out iFLY Hollywood. Experience skydiving without the dangers, costs or restrictions of regular outdoor skydiving. This state-of-the-art vertical wind tunnel will allow you to soar– safely inside. A flight instructor will show you the ropes on proper body positioning and hand signal before you take off. You’ll also gear up in authentic skydiving clothes including a helmet, flight suit and pair of goggles. After you take flight, stay behind and watch the instructors put on an ethereal air show. In addition to skydiving, CityWalk also has plenty of shops to explore. Unique and exciting stores like The Los Angeles Sock Exchange and Things From Another World are sure to have the perfect trinkets and souvenirs to take home.
